In the end the trip to Brighton was wonderful. It was also strange and challenging and uncomfortable at times. There were moments where I felt entirely content, and moments I felt lonely and scrutinised, and moments I felt both at once. And still each morning I got up and took those feelings out into the city in search of the day, and every day we managed to find it.
