NARRATIVES MEAN SO MUCH TO OUR CULTURE, NOT JUST BECAUSE THEY INVOKE A BASIC SENSE OF MORALITY, BUT BECAUSE THEY MAKE OUR VERY HUMANITY SOMETHING UNDERSTANDABLE.
