rainer maria rilke
I.17
She who reconciles the ill-matched threads
of her life, and weaves them gratefully
into a single cloth –
it’s she who drives the loudmouths from the hall
and clears it for a different celebration
where the one guest is you.
In the softness of evening
it’s you she receives.
You are the partner of her loneliness,
the unspeaking center of her monologues.
With each disclosure you encompass more
and she stretches beyond what limits her,
to hold you.
#1: I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me. -bronnie ware, the top 5 regrets of the dying

Christ distributes courage through community; he dissipates doubts through fellowship. He never deposits all knowledge in one person but distributes pieces of the jigsaw puzzle to many. When you interlock your understanding with mine, and we share our discoveries . . . When we mix, mingle, confess, and pray, Christ speaks.

words i love and fear
we don't become the adjectives we want to be because we'll feel that way in the moment. we do it in spite of how afraid and un-courageous we feel, by going through suffering ("the only way out is through")
i think this and tomorrow will be the smartest commitments i make all summer and i fear how great they will be and how much i will need to change.
oldie but a goodie

new pattern: people being surprised that writers could be interested in learning production, too. is it cause it's off the fast track? i feel like it can only help

39:36 - 39:54
for a spy, loyalty is a strange thing. your job is to deceive, to live among your enemies, to perform dark deeds for a noble purpose. and it's that purpose that guides you through the darkness. when you lose sight of that, the darkness is all there is.

for the Lord will not cast off forever, but, though He causes grief, He will have compassion according to the abundance of His steadfast love; for He does not willingly afflict or grieve the children of men.

I want to be a better writer so I can be a better writer. selling stuff isn't the direction (so important)
something about high self-worth versus the tyranny of self-esteem?

thankful for brothers who challenge me to be sharper, and sisters who are really after my heart. i'm trying to be, too.
a lesson garnered: create a proven market for yourself and doors will open to absorb your hole. (hee)
